Crisis intervention

Providing short term intervention within 24hrs to children in crisis.

Risk assessments

Identifying hazards and risk factors which could harm a child.

Opening court inquires

Social workers conduct investigations in order to make a recommendation to the court to ensure the safety of children identified as being at risk.

Investigations

Social workers conduct investigations into the circumstances of the child/ren and his/her caregivers to determine whether statutory intervention is required. These investigations are also received as orders from the court.

Family Support

Family preservation

We provide family strengthening interventions when it has been determined that it is in the best interest of child/ren, to remain in the care of their parents.

Parenting skills groups

Equipping parents and foster parents with the skills they need to look after their child.

Life Skills groups

We provide programs which are designed to increase resilience in children by showing them how to manage life’s risks and challenges in a manner which is not harmful to themselves or others.

Care & mediation

We provide mediation services to parents who are experiencing difficulties with co- parenting.

Adoption Services

Birth registrations

Assisting parents with birth registration.

Local Adoption

We recruit, screen and train prospective parents to adopt abandoned or orphaned children.

Intercountry Adoption

We have a working agreement with the Australian Central Authority to facilitate intercountry adoptions between South Africa and Australia. Counselling services to birth parents who wish to relinquish their children up for adoption

Aftercare & Reunification

Post Adoption Services

We offer emotional support, available to new adoptive parents or to parents who have given up custody of a child

Reunification

Restoration of vulnerable families where this deemed to be in their best interests to be returned to the care of their parents

Grant applications

We assist children and families, in need of financial assistance who meet the criteria in accordance with the Children’s Act 38 0f 2005, to apply for grants.
